The ‘G’ that goes with the ‘T’, Mother’s Ruin, Juniper Juice… just some of the terms we use to describe our favourite beverage. Whether the base of an iconic Gin & Tonic or the centre piece in some of our favourite cocktails, there’s no doubt that Gin has cemented itself as a real ‘go to’ when it comes to drinks, and at the AHC we really do love our gin, so imagine our excitement when we found out we’d have our very own!

We’re extremely excited to announce the launch of a truly tasty tipple, introducing our AHC Gin… Exclusive to the Alexander Hotel Collection. We’ve partnered with our friends at Silent Pool Gin Distillery, in the Surrey Hills, to bring you our ‘Original Juniper’ blend, available at all five hotels across the collection and we can’t wait for you to gin-vestigate it for yourselves!

Here’s the lowdown…

So, let us tell you a little more about the proud new addition to our bar shelves… Our ‘Original Juniper’ AHC Gin is versatile and classic in flavour. As the name suggests, it’s deliciously Juniper driven, but balanced delightfully with the inclusion of some wonderful aromatic botanicals, including Clove, Vetiver & Belgian Angelica Root. Any gin lovers will adore it’s woody profile for the strong foundation to any delicious gin cocktail – not forgetting in everyone’s favourite libation, the G&T of course!

Our Perfect Serve 

With the arrival of our very own gin, we asked our talented bar managers from each hotel in the collection to put together their perfect serve Gin & Tonic using our AHC Gin, with our favourite from the collection to be served across the group – how exciting! The bar team from each hotel presented some utterly delightful perfect serves to showcase the gin, but unfortunately there can only be one winner – drum roll please…

Our winning perfect serve comes from Szilard, Bar Manager at 1608 Champagne at Alexander House, who wanted to provide a contrast to the Juniper notes of the gin by adding a fruity twist. He paired our AHC Gin with a Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic and garnished the drink with a grapefruit wheel, a sprig of mint & blackberry – and of course it was served over plenty of ice – the best way to enjoy the nation’s favourite sipper if you ask us. The florality from the Elderflower Tonic brings balance to those wonderful woody notes we find in the gin and the beautiful garnish makes it rather pleasant to look at too. After all, we eat (or drink…) with our eyes too!

Szilard’s perfect serve will now be the perfect serve across the collection, so don’t worry, you’ll be able to enjoy this marvellous creation at any of our hotels!

Naturally, the teams were super excited to get their hands on our brand new gin and as well as G&T’s, they’ve been slinging some rather tasty looking sippers to enjoy too, so if Gin & Tonics aren’t for you, there’s plenty of other wonderful creations in which you can enjoy our fabulous new gin. If you’re joining us for a stay at any of our fabulous locations across the collection, we would definitely recommend heading to the bar to sample the winning perfect serve – or cocktails – for yourselves!
