Idle Hands: A Much Needed Manicure from Temple Spa
With the constant cycle of hand washing and sanitising that we are all experiencing at the moment, even those with the most naturally resilient skin are starting to feel the discomfort of dry and chapped skin. Between that very practical concern for all of us, and of course for Readers who usually get their nails done at nail bars and so on, our hands are definitely feeling neglected! So we spoke to our friends again at Temple Spa who devised this lovely manicure ritual to complete at home – enjoy! 1. FILE
The secret to perfect nails is in the filing. Always file from side to centre, to avoid splitting and encourage healthy nail growth.
2. MASK
If you’re hands are feeling super dry and uncomfortable, we recommend applying a thin layer of QUENCH deep moisturising mask to your hands. After application, wrap your hands in cling-film and leave for 20 minutes. This will deeply moisturise your hands leaving them feeling soft and hydrated.
3. CUTICLES
Massage our nourishing skincare oil IT’S ALL GOOD, or our famous IN THE BEGINNING deep cleansing skin cleanser melt into the nail bed and gently push back the cuticles.
TOP TIP: massage either IT’S ALL GOOD or IN THE BEGINNING into your cuticles every night to help soften and nourish. This daily ritual helps to support healthy nail growth and ensures your less likely to suffer from those nasty hang nails.
4. MOISTURISE
Next, we recommend applying a hand cream before you paint. We love using our PALM BALM award winning hand cream as it helps to hydrate and restore the look of youthful hands as well as smooth and even skin tone.
5. VARNISH
Last but not least, remove the excess moisturiser from the nails with a quick wipe of nail polish remove and follow with a your nail varnish.
TOP TIP: make sure you apply a base & top coat to avoid staining the nail and to protect your nail bed from any damage or irritations.
Say hello to gorgeously radiant hands!
