Langshott Manor Summer Wedding
Deborah & Nigel held their bright & colourful wedding with us over the Summer.
How long have you been together and how did he/she ‘pop the question’?
We’ve been together for 4 years and Nigel popped the question in the kitchen when I was making a cup of tea!
How did you start planning your wedding? What were your first steps?
We knew that we only wanted a small wedding and wanted to combine the ceremony and meal at the same place, so the first step was finding a location that catered to our needs.
What kind of things did you take into consideration when choosing your wedding venue and what made you pick Langshott Manor?
We chose Langshott Manor because it’s a beautiful setting and feels as if you are in the country, while still being accessible for all of our guests. We also wanted somewhere that could provide accommodation for some of our guests.
Describe the 1st time you visited Langshott Manor.
I first visited Langshott 10 years ago, and was delighted that the great ambience had not changed when we had our wedding there recently.
How long did you take between becoming engaged and tying the knot?
Four months! (just goes to prove that you don’t need years to plan a wedding when you have our expert team behind you!)
What was your colour scheme / theme? Where did you find the inspiration for your wedding day?
We chose red, purple and green. The inspiration for the colours came from blending the colour of my dress which was red, with the colour in the Langshott Lounge which is purple.
What cultures, traditions, quirks or unusual ideas did you incorporate into your day?
No particular traditions, but we wanted a wedding that was full of fun and joy and that’s what we had!
How did you find the perfect dress/Suit? How many shops did you need to visit / dresses/Suits did you try on before you found The One? Tell us all about it.
I looked at 5 different dresses before I found the right one. The bridesmaids wore complementary dresses in green and white and the groom wore a new suit.
What menu did you choose?
Starters – Hot Smoked Salmon Terrine or Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Soup
Mains – Roast Breast of corn fed Coq au Vin or Fillet of Stone Bass
Desserts – Crème Brûlée or Passionfruit Delice
What was your favourite moment of the day?
The service and saying our vows to each other.
What was your first dance?
We didn’t have one!
Any top tips that you’d like to share for future Langshott Manor couples?
Be clear and specific about all of your requirements. Ensure that you have planned the running order of the day.
Looking back, is there anything you’d do differently?
No because it was a fantastic day.
And finally…… three words that best describe your day?
We had the most amazingly wonderful wedding day and thank you Langshott for staging it for us.
An absolute pleasure Deborah and Nigel, we hope you have many years of happiness together
