  • Can I use the spa during my stay?

    Utopia Spa access is available for all guests confirmed on one of our leisure breaks. Please be aware that Utopia Spa access is not included on Room Only, Bed & Breakfast or Dinner, Bed & Breakfast packages. Spa access can be added for a small charge per person per night or included when booking an 85 or 55 minute Utopia Spa Treatment.

  • What time can I check in?

    Check in is at 3pm. We offer early check in at 12pm, charged at £50.00 per room.

  • What time is check out?

    Check out is at 11am. We offer late check out at 2pm, charged at £50.00 per room.

  • What time is breakfast served from?

    Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 10:00am

    Weekends & Bank Holidays | 8:00am - 11:00am

  • Can I bring my own food and drink for during my stay?

    No, we do not permit guests bringing or ordering their own food and drink to the Hotel.

  • Are there rooms that can sleep three people available?

    We have a selection of Luxury Rooms, Junior or Spa Suites or our Self Serviced Gatehouse that can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child. Please call our reservations team on 01342 714914 for further information.

  • Do I need to bring my own bathrobe?

    Robes and slippers are provided in all of our bedrooms and suites.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    For Dinner, Bed and Breakfast packages:

    Cancellation policy for this rate: a £50.00 per person non-refundable deposit is required at the time of making your reservation and is only transferable if a clear 7 days notice has been given. Any notification of a cancellation within 48 hours will result in the full package price being charged. All pre-paid deposits are non-refundable.

    For Breaks with Treatments included:

    Cancellation policy for this rate: a £100.00 per person non-refundable deposit is required at the time of making your reservation and is only transferable if a clear 7 days notice has been given. Any notification of a cancellation within 7 days will result in the full package price being charged. All pre-paid deposits are non-refundable. We strongly advise all guests to consider travel insurance to cover the unfortunate cancellation of your stay.

    A more flexible amendment policy is available to allow for any unforeseen circumstances by opting for our ‘flexi cover’. This will allow you to change the date of your booking on one occasion up to 24 hours prior to arrival. This option is chargeable at £15 per room at the time of booking. Please note that Flexi cover is only available when the packages which are not fully pre-payable at time of booking.

    For Advanced Purchase and Special offer Pre paid rates:

  • Do room and spa rates include VAT?

    Yes, all of our rates include VAT.

  • Do you allow pets in your hotel?

    We are pleased to welcome small and medium sized dogs at Alexander House.  Your dog can stay with you in selected Garden Suites in the Cedar Lodge, which give very easy access to the grounds. To find out more, view our dog guide here.

  • Do you have parking?

    Yes, we have free parking at the hotel. This includes charging points for electric cars and designated disabled parking spaces.

  • What Covid measures do you have in place?

    Our teams continue to treat face masks as part of their uniform to provide assurance and protect our more vulnerable guests.  It is up to you if you would like to also wear a mask. We have NHS Track & trace points to allow you to check in if you wish to.  There are no restrictions on numbers anymore.  All our stringent cleaning measures are still in place and you will see plenty of hand sanitiser dotted around the hotel.

  • I have booked a spa break, what time are my treatments?

    Your treatments times will be confirmed during your check in, and can be scheduled between 3pm on the day of arrival until 1pm on he day of departure. Please note that treatment times cannot be confirmed prior to check in.

  • What spa facilities do you have?

    Our Grecian-themed spa has an exercise pool, hydrotherapy pool and bubble tub as well as saunas, steam rooms and monsoon showers located in our changing suites. The spa has a private zen garden with outdoor hot tub and two relaxation lounges.

    There are 25 treatment rooms including three double treatment rooms with private showers and a wealth of treatments to choose from. There is also a professional hair salon, nail bar and pedicure station.

    Spa guests can make full use of the state-of-the-art gym, as well as our tennis courts, walking trails and mountain bikes.

  • Can I use the spa before check in at 3pm?

    The use of spa facilities is from 3pm. If you wish to use the spa before 3pm we do offer an early check in option, charged at £50 per room. Early check in is available from 12pm and will allow you access to all spa facilities. To arrange, please contact us in advance of your stay.

  • What time is your spa open until?

    Our spa is open daily from 8am - 8pm.

  • Is there a minimum age requirement for access to the spa and pools?

    For health and safety reaons, any persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to use the spa or pool facilities.

  • Shall I bring two swimming costumes with me?

    We do not have swimwear drying facilities available at our spa, so you may wish to bring more than one.

  • Do I need to bring my own robe or footwear?

    As a spa guest, you will be provided with a robe, towels and slippers. Please remember to bring suitable swimwear as this is not provided.

  • Where can I view the spa lunch menu?
  • If I book a treatment do I have access to the Spa facilities?

    Individual treatment bookings do not include use of the spa facilities unless you are a hotel resident.

  • Do your restaurants have a dress code?

    Our dress code for AG's is elegantly smart. We do not require gentlemen to wear a jacket and tie, but please bear in mind that we do not permit sportswear.

  • Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

    We try our best to cater for special diets. We offer a Vegan and Vegetarian menu in both of our restaurants however for certain dietary requirements we do require a minimum of 24 hours notice.

  • What is the difference between your two restaurants?

    AGs Restaurant is 3 AA Rosette awarded and is open for A la carte dinner, Saturday brunch, and Sunday lunch. To dine in AGs you must comply with our smart dress code. While we don't require a jacket and tie, we don't permit sportswear.

    Reflections Restaurant is 2 AA Rosette awarded and is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. This restaurant provides a more relaxed setting to dine in, there is no dress code and we welcome spa guests to relax in their robes.

  • Do you have to be a hotel resident to enjoy the bar and restaurants?

    You do not have to be a hotel resident to come in for drinks or dining. However, you will need to book a table in advance if you wish to dine with us.

  • Can I bring my own food and drink during my stay?

    Due to the popularity of our afternoon tea, advanced booking is highly recommended.

    Afternoon tea: £29.00pp Monday - Friday | £31.00pp Saturday & Sunday

  • Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

    We try our best to cater for every dietary requirement, including gluten free and vegetarian Afternoon Tea. We do require a minimum of 24 hours notice for any special dietary requirements.

  • What can I buy with monetary vouchers?

    Money vouchers can be redeemed against any product for the purchased hotel. No change will be given when using a voucher to settle your account. Please note that gift vouchers cannot be used as a payment method to buy gift vouchers.

  • How long are gift vouchers valid for?

    Gift vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of purchase with the exception of certain sale vouchers of which are valid for 6 months, unless stated otherwise.
