72 hours in the Surrey

Because just a couple of days in the heart of the Surrey countryside simply isn’t enough, when you book two night’s bed and breakfast, the third night’s on us. We’ve put together the perfect 72-hour guide to ensure you get the best from your stay in the glorious home counties. So whether you’re a self-confessed foodie or a budding botanist, there really is something for everyone.

Day one

For the foodies

Spend some time with our Head Gardener and discover our bee hives, pigs, kitchen garden, Saxon moat and more. Book a private bee-keeping experience and harvest some honey to take home with you. Then, enjoy a Michelin-starred gastronomic journey in our beautiful fine dining restaurant, Tony Parkin at The Tudor Room - and expect a few surprises throughout the evening!

Day two

For the budding botanists

The Royal Horticultural Society’s most famous garden, Wisley, is just a 30-minute drive away. Visit the Green House for a taste of the exotic or lose yourself in the perfume of the Bowes-Lyon rose garden. Hotfoot it back to Great Fosters and settle in with a ‘G & Tea’ on the terrace overlooking the splendid listed Parterres gardens, and try one of our cocktails for a sun-downer at the Archery Pavilion.

Day three

For the explorers

Great Fosters itself is one of the most important historic buildings in England. Plus, there is much to see in nearby Windsor. Visit the Queen’s favourite home, Windsor Castle (park in the King Edward VII car park, just a 10-minute walk and reasonable fares). Afterwards, enjoy a late lunch in the historic Two Brewers pub, tucked away on one of the oldest streets of Windsor Park.
