Jade & Tam’s Wedding at Rowhill Grange
Jade and Tam held their wedding with us at the end of September on an unseasonably warm sunny day and generously share the details of their wedding planning experience & fabulous day with us below.
How long have you been together and how did he ‘pop the question’?
We’ve been together for 8 1/2 years and Tam proposed to me in Dubai
How did you start planning your wedding? What were your first steps?
We researched a lot of venues. We knew we wanted to get married outside so started our search for venues with nice outdoor spaces.
What kind of things did you take into consideration when choosing your wedding venue and what made you pick Rowhill Grange?
A picturesque venue was important to us. We also wanted somewhere with a long entrance (we definitely hit that requirement).
Describe the 1st time you visited Rowhill Grange.
We first visited Rowhill Grange in October 2022 for a birthday spa break and fell in love with the hotel then.
How long did you take between becoming engaged and tying the knot?
We took about six years but Covid really did get in the way of our plans!
What was your colour scheme / theme? Where did you find the inspiration for your wedding day?
Our colour scheme was cream & green plants. We found the cream suits & bridesmaid dress matched the venue perfectly. We also used eucalyptus and white flowers to decorate. We wanted the beautiful outdoor space & gardens to follow into the wedding breakfast
How did you find the perfect dress? How many shops did you need to visit / dresses did you try on before you found The One? Tell us all about it.
I chose the first wedding dress I had ever tried on! This was 6 years after our initial engagement.
Tell us about the bridesmaids?
We went for a light cream/beige colour palette. This was a lovely soft colour and matched the venue and grounds perfectly.
What menu did you choose?
Our starter was the chicken kiev bonbon and then lamb for our main course and for dessert we chose the brownie. It was all delicious!
What was your favourite moment of the day?
Walking down the aisle and seeing/ concentrating on my husband to be
What was your first dance?
Etta James- At last
Any top tips that you’d like to share for future Rowhill Grange couples?
We strongly recommend Rowhill for any marriage ceremony. The grounds are beautiful, every single member of the staff is accommodating and nothing is ever too much trouble (we’re blushing!)
Looking back, is there anything you’d do differently?
No! We are so pleased with every single part of our day.
Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
We had the most amazing wedding day with our guests. We had lovely weather and were able to make the most of the outside grounds & have our ceremony outside. I was nervous that it was going to rain & if we had had to get married inside I would have had such different feelings and memories about our day.
And finally…… three words that best describe your day?
Joyous, complete, wholesome.
Thank you for sharing your day with us. We wish you a long and fruitful marriage and hope to welcome you back to Rowhill Grange very soon.
