Rowhill Grange Real Wedding
Claire and Christopher married with us in July and kindly agreed to share the details of their wedding planning experience & fabulous wedding day with us.
How long have you been together and how did he ‘pop the question’?
We have been together for 8 years and Christopher asked me to marry him over dinner on holiday.
How did you start planning your wedding? What were your first steps?
We looked at several venues local to us and spoke to family for suggestions before finally choosing Rowhill Grange,
What kind of things did you take into consideration when choosing your wedding venue and what made you pick Rowhill Grange?
We wanted a venue close to our home and we had previously visited the hotel and stayed for the weekend so we knew it was the right venue for us.
Describe the 1st time you visited Rowhill Grange.
We stayed at the hotel one weekend for a spa stay and afternoon tea. We were very impressed with the grounds and how relaxing our whole experience was.
How long did you take between becoming engaged and tying the knot?
We took just over a year between getting engaged and marrying.
What was your colour scheme / theme? Where did you find the inspiration for your wedding day?
We took lots of inspiration from the hotel’s wedding brochure and open day that we attended. We chose a mainly white palette with touches of blue.
What cultures, traditions, quirks or unusual ideas did you incorporate into your day?
Our day was fairly simple. We didn’t want speeches or a sit down meal. We wanted an intimate ceremony and a celebration with our closest family & friends.
How did you find the perfect dress?
I did a lot of research online and knew which styles I liked. I only visited one shop and immediately found my dream strapless Duchess satin dress!
Tell us about the bridesmaids?
The groom’s three piece suit was from Next and each bridesmaid chose her own powder blue dress.
What menu did you choose?
We chose an informal evening buffet.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
Every single one! We particularly love Claire’s cute puzzle idea – so personal and such a lovely memory to have of the day!
What was your first dance?
We chose (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams.
Any top tips that you’d like to share for future Rowhill Grange couples?
Make a list for your photographer of all the photos that you would like (s)he to take.
Looking back, is there anything you’d do differently?
I would probably choose a different photographer (the photographer was not one of our recommended photographers).
Is there anything else you’d like to tell us?
Thank you to all the Rowhill team for supporting us and giving us a wonderful wedding. We think the joy of Nicola and Christopher’s day is summed up rather nicely by Nicola’s three youngest bridesmaids!
And finally…… three words that best describe your day?
Relaxing, intimate and perfect.
Thank you for sharing your day with us. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together and hope to welcome you back to Rowhill Grange very soon.
